Southern California Ignition Reduction Project Boundary

This boundary "includes all lands from the Mexican border to Monterey, from the coast to the desert or Central Valley, with the eastern boundary extending 5 miles east of the National Forests as a smoothed line. It includes all 4 National Forests, has ecological and wildfire risk similarity throughout, was used to calculate the percentage of human-caused ignitions for the SCIRP charter, and was the bounding shape for the Vibrant Planet modeling of ignition reduction."- Jeff Heys, Acting Palomar District Ranger, Wildfire Risk Reduction Program Manager
