NASA WERK Lidar - California Statewide (30m)

30-meter resolution lidar-derived statewide products covering all of California in EPSG:3310 (California Albers). This coarser resolution dataset is suitable for regional and statewide analysis, compatible with other 30-meter datasets such as Landsat-derived products.

Layers include: Digital Terrain Model (DTM), Digital Surface Model (DSM), Canopy Height Model (CHM), Slope, Aspect, canopy cover at multiple height bands (>2m, 2-4m, 4-8m), and height percentiles (p10 through p99) and distribution statistics (standard deviation, skewness, kurtosis) of first returns.

This dataset is part of the NASA Wildfire, Ecosystem Resilience, and Risk Assessment (WERK) initiative — a collaborative effort between NASA, the California Natural Resources Agency (CNRA), and the California Air Resources Board (CARB). Products are derived from 3D airborne lidar point cloud data from the USGS 3D Elevation Program (3DEP) and include elevation, slope, aspect, canopy height, canopy cover, and height percentiles. All files are in Cloud-Optimized GeoTIFF (COG) format.
