Na Pali Coast, KauaI, Hawaii

NCALM Seeds. PIs: Kimberly Huppert, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Mathuei Laporte, California Institute of Technology. The requested survey area consisted of a single irregular polygon of approximately 80 square kilometers on the island of KauaI, Hawaii. Data were collected to investigate the climate control of hillslope erosion across a steep rainfall gradient on KauaI (Kimberly Huppert) and the interplay of cliff erosion, landsliding, and knickpoint retreat along the Na Pali Coast, KauaI (Mathieu Lapotre). The survey attempts took placed from February 14, 2013 through February 16, 2013. This survey area encompasses two proposed survey areas from the NCALM Seed program.
