The Caltrans Office of Natural Resource Management (ONRM) serves as Caltrans' commitment as a partner agency in the California Wildfire & Forest Resilience Task Force. The ONRM oversees vegetation management activities in the Caltrans right-of-way (ROW) along state highways to reduce the threat of wildfires. Beginning with the 2025 Caltrans Fuels Reduction Service Contract 3, this Activities feature class tracks the types of vegetation management activities performed in each Work Area Boundary, as measured in Acres. Vegetation management activities performed on Trees are captured in a separate feature class. The Acres Activities feature class utilizes the GIS Data Structure developed by the California Wildfire & Forest Resilience Task Force Interagency Tracking System to ensure compatibility between Caltrans and Task Force data reporting.
