Granite Dells Terrestrial Laser Scanning Dataset

Precariously balanced rocks (PBRs) are pedestal rocks that are used as negative indicators for earthquake-generated strong ground motions to physically validate seismic hazard analyses. To help understand the geologic and geomorphic settings in which PBRs form, terrestrial laser scanning was used to scan a small population of PBRs that are preserved on hillslopes adjacent to a small stream channel.
